On Sunday, Stefan, Alex and I went on a five mile hike with the Cub Scouts.
It was a beautiful, warm fall day, and absolutely perfect for a hike in the woods.
I marvelled at the endurance of young boys, and how much it differs from my endurance. They have a high endurance for silliness and goofiness of all types, and can keep at it for hours without tiring.
But their endurance for hiking long distances? Not so much. They were excited until about mile 2, and then the focus was mainly on when the next break was, or what their next snack would be.

Perhaps you become an adult when the balance of endurance for silly jokes drops WAY below the endurance for long, quiet hikes?
Just one of the many thoughts that came up during this lovely hike.
