To say they have been interesting to Alex would be a severe understatement. He's starting to live and breathe Harry Potter, similar to the beginning of the Star Wars interest. One thing that he likes to point out (once or twice a day) is that he has a scar on his forehead, just like Harry Potter. If you look closely at this picture, you can see it above his eyebrows. Sometimes he pauses, mid-action in whatever he's doing, and declares in a mysterious voice that his scar is hurting. Just like Harry Potter. We sure are glad for the warning--we can get prepared in case Voldemort comes to visit. The only concern I have is that he wants it to be shaped like a lightning bolt, and was even asking how to make more scars. Huh. Let's just not encourage THAT one.
Jameson's reading is more focused on picture books. He now takes a few of them into his crib at naptime and bedtime. We stop him at about 4 or 5, because he'd gladly take 10 or 20. 10 or 20 hard board books in a small crib--you might as well sleep on the floor!
The big advantage of this new interest is that he can entertain himself when he wakes up. In fact, sometimes he doesn't want to get out of his crib because he's having so much fun reading.
These are the moments, despite any evidence to the contrary, where you just have to be convinced that you are doing something right.

whatever you do - don't tell me how it ends. I'm only on page 20.
You should come over and read out loud to Alex. ;)
