Long weekend

It was a weekend to remember.

Day-tripping and savoring time with family and friends. Packing and unpacking and repacking again. Preparing fresh food and the inevitable cleaning up. Hiking and swimming (and swimming and swimming... three different lakes!). One boy turning five years old, who was just so thrilled with himself and the world on his special day. Another boy starting two weeks away at camp, full of anticipation and nerves and excitement.

It was a weekend to celebrate and honor the Michigan summer, a weekend that satisfied and grounded on so many different levels.

As I finish this weekend and preparing for the work-week, there are two thoughts running around and around in my mind:

::Gratitude for the people and the places in my life, and for the opportunity to slow down and savor this Michigan summer.

::Offering to the universe that, should a lake house happen to be in my future, I'd be just fine with that.
