If there's any reason for travelling as a family, this day was it. The packing, the hassles, the driving, the fussing, the sleeping in a strange space, the hard-to-settle-at-night-five-year-old, the expense... all pale in comparison to a crisp morning spent climbing dunes. The scenery alone was astounding and awe-inspiring, yet to see how each one of us absorbs the place and finds their enjoyment--as an individual and a member of this little family--brings satisfaction and grounded happiness that will last long after the bags are unpacked.
If you are thinking about taking that weekend away, GO. Pack up the kids, get on the road and find those wonderful moments.
