The persona I put on during the work day, the organized and efficient project manager, slips away as we drive out of town, headed towards this little lake. We meet our friends, we create wonderful meals and play games, we watch the sunset. But most importantly, I let the work-day rhythms fall away, even if for a few moments, and relish the time with this little boy.
The bigger brother is across the lake, enjoying his time at camp, while I savor a few simple days along the lakefront. It doesn't get much better.
(the leach attack, granted, was a little alarming... but what a story he had to tell Alex!)
