The holidays and milestones make it very easy to see the passing of time... this year, the growing independence of Alex was apparent. He treat-or-treated alone with friends for a short while, keeping on contact with us by his cell phone. Completely unfathomable a few years back! These changes are all exciting, bittersweet and fun at the same time.
Halloween passed in a flurry; the messy carving of the pumpkins and the "actual event" both occurred on rainy, cold nights. With the excitement of youth to keep us focused on the important things (candy, candy, and more candy) and just a bit of red wine, we made it through the event with ease.
(for historical purposes, Alex was "Steve" from the game Mindcraft---thanks to Stefan for the assistance in the great costume, and Jameson was a knight in shining armor)
