Monumental week

99% of our stuff is out and into the new house.

We're still standing.

So are the kids, and both of the houses.

However, there were torrential rains (on the first day of the move... lovely), a dishwasher that leaked all over the floor, a shower that needs some serious work, a dryer that seemed broken (Stefan later figured it out), a leaky toilet and a million other surprises.

There were also friends that came and spent hours moving our things in the rain. There was a huge box of cookies left by a wonderful neighbor. There was a delicious lunch AND dinner cooked by another fabulous neighbor. There were family members who came in to entertain Jameson and to move some of our thousands of pounds of stuff. There were the cheerful cadets who moved our heaviest items, requiring only some cash for beer and a few trays of brownies as motivation.

Oh, but moving is hard and challenging work--both mentally and physically--and I'm glad to move on to the next stage... unpacking, organizing, and arranging.

But in the meantime, the boys want to play ball in the yard, and it is a beautiful Sunday evening. I'm sure you know what my choice is.
