If there's anything this spring (heck, these last few years!) have taught us, it's to take advantage of the time we have. And if the weather is nice and everyone is healthy---grab hold of the moment and do something great.
Even if it means coercing, pushing, and pulling to get everyone out of bed to go hiking (ahem).
But there's not much that a quick stop for great coffee and a bag of jelly beans can't cure--even tired and whiny family members of mine---so off we went for a Memorial Day hike.
We went back to the same hike we've done a few times (like this) and then took a quick dip into the ice cold lake. The boys were determined to do some fishing, so I took an extra hike while they baited up their hooks. My hike was successful---their fishing not quite so successful---but we all came back to Ann Arbor hot and tired and worn out.
And really, I can't think of a better way to spend a day.
