Giving Thanks for family

We got back on Saturday after a couple of days down in Ohio, celebrating Thanksgiving. It's not at all hard to be thankful as you watch your boys and your nephews form memories of the holidays, while surrounded by some of your favorite people on the planet. It certainly doesn't hurt that you are related to them either.

It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without at least one trip to the playground with cousins.

It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without creative attempts to keep the kids occupied, including making jello and playing board games. These three young boys feed off each other's energy, sometimes spinning up to a boyish hurricane of energy zooming all over the house. And if jello stops the madness for a few minutes, then bring on the jello. Next year when Baby Daniel can keep up with them, and then we'll really have our hands full.

It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a trip to the indoor bouncy gym. Admittedly, this was the first year we've done this, but judging from the fun had by everyone, I think we'll be heading back. (and the best part? Getting kids down for nap after an hour at this place was a breeze)

It also wouldn't be Thanksgiving without making a huge mess of the kitchen while cooking up all sorts of good things. And, more importantly, it wouldn't be thanksgiving without all the feasting that comes after all that work. Yes, we had a lot to be thankful for this weekend.

(Thanks to Mike and Jurate who took most of the pictures)
